Evolution of the Czarist Politics with Respect to the Female Prostitution

The transition of the state politics from a complete prohibition of professional prostitution in Russia up to the middle of the XIXth century to its next legalization and stiffening of the control over the illegal actions in sphere of paid intimate services is traced in the article.
