History of Discovery of the Yakut Diamond Province

The article covers the problems of diamond deposits reconnaissance in the Western Yakutia in late forties, early fifties of the last century by different geological expeditions and organizations. The author describes technologies and methods of searching, difficulties in these researches, main discoveries resulting in the discovery of the richest Yakut diamond province.
