The revelation of Russian peasantry#s notions at the beginning of the 20th century is performed with the help of content analysis. The categories reflected the villagers# interests in the legal sphere are pointed out. During the revolution 1905-1907 the vector of transformation in peasantry#s demands was set; these demands had got a democratic character. At the same time traditional elements were strongly fixed in the villagers# consciousness.
