Activity of Charitable Professional and National Societies in the Post-Reform Russia: North Caucasian Region

This article introduces analysis and evaluation of activity of professional charitable, cultural educational and national voluntary societies in the North Caucasian region in post-reform period of 19th century. The article considers the kinds and methods of beneficial help to the different categories of citizens. The role of societies in formation of the social system and in dissemination of secular culture is defined. Voluntary companies as an important element of social and cultural sphere assisted in strengthening interethnic consolidation and interaction. The dissemination of "corporate" charity which involved definite layers of the population had become a new phenomenon since the 2nd part of the 19th century. Professional charitable voluntary societies played very important part in developing production brunches, in protecting social and economic rights of the workers.
