The article is devoted to features of the Early Byzantine diplomacy in the obscure time of the later 560s and 570s. There are some undecided questions in the historiography of this period; scholars have not common view on some phenomena and terms, which the antic authors used in their works. Author of this article analyzes and specifies some character details in the international relations with barbarians and makes a conclusion about non-passive diplomatic activities in the epoch of old Justinian the Great and emperor Justin the Second.
