Legal State of Protestant Communities and Atheistic Activity in the Altai Territory (1945-1980s)

In July, 1944 the process of legalization of churches started in the USSR. The aim was to establish the total control over religious communities in the country.
In 1945-1980s Altai Territory was notable for wide confessional representation. The region was a place for a vast majority of Mennonites, Baptists, Pentecostals to conduct their activity. Those protestant communities consisted mostly of Germans.
