Russian-Japanese Relations in the Sakhalin in 1875 and the Petersburg Diplomatic Act 1875

Significance and role of the Sakhalin Island in Russian-Japanese relations in the second part of 20th century are studied on the base of scientific research. The author make particular accent on the fishery, which have important meaning for the Japan economy, and on illegal activity of Japanese businessmen before signing of the Petersburg Act.
