The First World War brought many changes in economic, social and political life of the country. The shortage of labour power became vitally important problem not only for the central part of Russia but for outlying districts of the empire. Here we should pay a special attention to the Altai district of Tomsk province where the authorities, charitable funds and trusteeships, and educational managers organized agricultural help to the soldier#s families. Besides their studies, pupils accepted extraduties, voluntarily assisting soldier#s families. The formation of labour teams among pupils was very important for economic and educational points of view.
