Traditional Conception of the Altaic Russians about Female Body

In the article the traditional views of Altai countrymen connected with a female body, being in circulation in second half of 19th - first third of 20th century are reconstructed. For the first time the stereotypes concerning regulars and intimate hygiene are investigated on Altai material. Maternity has influenced greatly on beauty canons of a female body and face. Mixed ethnographic structure of the Altai countrymen allowed to consider influence of religious, historical and other factors on formation of stereotypes connected with a female body.
