The article is devoted to one of the aspects of American occupational policy - denazification. The paper underlines the stages of denazification, characterize the methods of its conducting, analyzes the problems, which American military government had to overcome realizing it. In conclusion it is inferred that the denazification in the American occupied zone was carried out rather softly, there were some errors, and the victims of this process turned out to be nominal, but not real Nazis.
