Working Ethics in the Russian Chancelleries of the Second Half of the 17th Century

The article deals with the everyday life of one of the central state bodies of Russia in the 17th cent. - Razriadnyi prikaz (service records bureau). Its material gives a precious opportunity both to view medieval Russian bureaucrats in their #natural environment# and to point out some methods of their work.
