Russian Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Women and Government Cooperation (Middle of XIX - Beginning of XX cc.)

The author reveals the diversity of means aimed to protect women of unfavourable strata of society and analyses the efficiency of these means. It is the first time when documentary sources, referred to Russian Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Women struggle against prostitution from 1900 till 1915 are introduced into scientific use.
