The Degree of Kazakh Society Islamization at the End of XIX - XX Century according to the Observations and Estimation of Missionaries in Kirghiz Mission

The problem of Islam penetration in Kazakh society in the considered period is being discussed during many years. Materials of #Reports of Kirghiz Mission Activity# which act among the Kazakh people of Altaiskii gornyi district and Akhmolinskaya and Semipalatinskaya districts of Stepnoye region in the period of 1881-1914 can correct and specify some facts.

Observations of mission workers that had been documented in the annual #Activity Reports# allow to declare that during the seventeenth years of the XIX century - 1914 the positions of Islam strengthened gradually in the Kazakh steppe. After all Kazakhs knew better the ceremonial side of Islam than its religious system.
