The author reveals the reasons for formation of Krasnoyarsk as an academic centre of archeology in 1918-1919, examines the activity of this centre in the 1920s and the first halt of 1930s and the circumstances involved in the cessation of the centre#s activities. The paper characterizes main research expeditions and contains the description of the dominant concepts common among archeologists of Krasnoyarsk engaged in studying the problems of Metal Age. New archive documents are made known for all the specialists concerned.
