The problem of the perception of the image of Russia by modern youth in the Altai territory is considered. The image of the country is formed by the influence of many factors. The place of Russia between western and eastern civilizations is one of the most important factors forming the image of Russia. The analysis has shown that the whole image of Russia in the ideas of the young people of the Altai territory splits into four sub-images of the country. They are #the image of Russia at present#, #the image of Russia in the past#, #the image of Russia in future# and #the ideal image of Russia#.
