The major options for abandoned children family placement are considered. The rights and obligations of parents and the child emerging in such transactions are discussed along with the governmental support in the matter (compensations, privileges). The author relates the family placement options mentioned above with the #orthodox# sociological model of family. Based on that comparison the author concludes that only child adoption allows for a true new family formation.
