By the archival materials basis the workers families of the Altai district and also the qualified workers families arrived from European Russia to Tomsk province, were investigated. The nature of structure and demography and also relatively high dependence the majority of considered families on the home economy was determined. Basing to these returns it is possible to state the fact that the investigated groups of the workers was already concerned to a new type of family, arising during modernization on the basis of decomposition the old patriarchal family type.
