Given article is considered the problem of struggle with desertion during the period of the Great Patriotic War on the example of Kursk Territory. The characteristic of the level of prevalence of desertion and deviation from call-up in the period of war, directive instructions and practical steps on the struggle with these negative moments in particular is given. Besides the reasons of desertion and effectiveness of measures of the struggle with it are analyzed.
