The legislative acts and measures of the Russian State from the 1700s till 1930s in the field of orthodox-temple-building in the Altai rural area based on scientific sources and archives documents are discussed in the article. The facts from Altai villages are also given. Furthermore, the causation and consequence of implementing one or the other decree and legislative act are analyzed (for example, the 1700s legislative prohibition of chapel-building was caused by a frequent erection of such constructions by Old Believers as the architectural differences between orthodox and Old Belief chapels were minimal; wooden church-building was prohibited because of widespread fires, etc.) and how they were executed in the rural Altai is determined.
