This article is devoted to the problem of qualitative and quantitative structure of rural merchants as a special category of Tomsk province#s businessmen in the second half of XIXth century. Common quantity and ratio between districts are shown. The reasons of multiplicity of the rural merchants are noted, especially in the Biysk district. Also the role of urban merchant capital in the formation of not urban business centers is shown and the formation sources of rural merchants are revealed.
