From the History of Taxation of Kazakh and Kyrgiz people settled in the Chui River Valley: Foreign Policy Aspect (1860-1864)

The middle of the 19th century was the beginning of a new stage of Russian policy in Central Asia. As a result of active foreign policy of Russian government Southern-Kazakh and Northern-Kyrgiz territories were joint to Russian state. Aggravation of Russian-Kokand rivalry for domination over Southern Kazakhstan and Nothern Kyrgiziya, ripped necessity of Russian-Chinese demarcation in Central Asia demanded Russian government to act decisively but well-deliberately. In the article the author basing on a number of published documents and archives data studies the problem of consolidation of Russian state domination over joint territories in circumstances of complicated international situation in Central Asia in 1860-1864.
