Franco-German negotiations on the Schuman plan in 1950#1951: making a compromise

The article covers a foundation of the European Coal and Steel Community (ESCS). Developed by a French economist J. Monnet the plan of integrating European coal and steel industries has become known as the Schuman plan. It was made for a conclusive alignment of Germany on sight of West and Franco-German settlement. The negotiations begun on June 1950 dragged on because of German tough position. Only after American diplomacy had meddle in the treaty was signed.
