The problem of development of a picturesque auto portrait in fine arts of Altai of second half of XX century is discussed. Under the classification circuit including such parameters, as the form of product, its format, kind, characteristic by quantity of figures and composite construction, the author characterizes self-portraits of the Altai artists to formal attributes. Besides, on the basis of correlation of components of substantial structure with an art image the classification of the Altai self-portraits on certain typology, allowing is given to reveal prevalence of the chamber forms of an self-portrait in the Altai painting in the second half of XX century and conducting role realistic self-portrait # self-contemplation and self-portrait # self-description of a social orientation.
