To a question of periodization of Russian policy in Central Asia in the late 1860's - mid 1880's
In difference with military-defensive character of Russian policy in Central Asia in the period 1851 - mid 1865, the period of the late 1860's - mid 1880's is characterized by the author as military-offensive. In this article the author suggests new periodization of Russian Policy in Central Asia in the late 1860's - mid 1880's:
1) June of 1865-1868 - transformation of Kokand khanate and Bukhara emirate into Russian protectorate;
2) 1869-1876 - transformation of Khiva khanate into Russian protectorate and liquidation of Kokand khanate;
3) 1877-1885 - final entering of Kyrgyzstan in the structure of Russian Empire and joining of Turkmenistan.
Besides, the author illuminates some points of "the price of conquest" question and comes to the conclusion about necessity of special research of this problem.
