Seasonal variability of organic matter in water and bottom sediments of Barnaulka River

Organic matter pollution of water and bottom sediments of Barnaulka River has been studied. It has been found that according to BOD₅ water in Barnaulka River qualifies as moderately contaminated during low-water winter period and highly polluted during the spring flood. Autumn low-water period is distinguished by excessively high concentration of phenol in water. As for oil pollution the bottom sediments qualify as pollution free or moderately polluted.
