The article gives the analysis of the peculiarities of the preliminary hearing in the court of jury. The preliminary hearing is necessary if there is an application of the accused about the consideration of the case by the jury. In the Criminal Procedure Code of the Russian Federation there are special requirements for the procedure of preliminary hearing. The judge alone holds closed sessions in the established period of time.
