The article touches upon the burning problems of tactics and principles of the inquest under the Criminal Proceedings Code of the Russian Federation 2002. On the basis of thorough analysis of modern scientific points of view on the inquest principles and generalization of inquest experience on deviation of customs payment, the author considers three typical trial situations decided by a prosecutor, a counsel for the defense and a trial itself.
