"Women (baba)" in the mirror of Russian mentality

The article deals with the cultural interpretation of the linguistic sign "woman". The cultural connotation of the concept "woman" in the period of Christian interpretation of world (14 - beginning of 20-th century) is represented according the results of linguo-cultural analysis of the idioms that include this sign. The materials from "Explanatory dictionary of Great living Russian language" by V. Dal were used in the analysis.
