Some problems of definition of the idea of democracy

This article analyses the problem of definition of notion of democracy as the government by people through the notion of "nation", characterizes its correlation with the meaning of "nation", "population" and "society". Great attention in this article is paid to the examination in the modern and pre- revolutional juridical literature the conception of the meaning of "society" and its relation with the meaning of "people".
