This article is devoted to the ideological appreciation of political views of the well-known thinker of the XXth century Fiedrich August von Hayek, whose place in the formed system of political traditions is still very disputable. The questions about the belonging of his political philosophy to conservatism and liberalism is being solved not only on the basis of the analyses of the present research positions, but also considering his own self-appraisal.
