Ethnic-cultural conditionality of sociological knowledge

A correlation of two global tendencies in development of culture - universum and partycularism - is considered in the article. In connection with this a role of national mentality in the development of socio-humanitarian knowledge and specifics of Russian sociological idea is evaluated.
