The karyological structure of natural population of Polypedilum nubeculosum Mg. (Diptera, Chironomidae) from Altai regions

The salivary glands chromosomes of Polypedilum nubeculosum Mg. natural population have been analyzed in detail. The larvae were obtained from Lake Beloe (Altai regions) in May 1993. Karyological analysis was carried out on squashed aceto-orsein slides of polytene chromosomes. Photographic maps of giant chromosomes (2n = 8) and their inversion polymorphism are studied. The population examined is highly polymorphic.
